The Wagga sub-branch of the Returned and Services League (RSL) turned 98 on Friday.
A birthday cake was cut at the sub-branch’s Christmas barbecue lunch on Wednesday by office manager Tanya Barker and former president David Gardiner.
Tanya next month will celebrate 20 years’ employment at the sub-branch.
Sub-branch president Kevin Kerr said the Wagga group had humble beginnings and at one point in its history could not afford to pay its bills.
But the sub-branch of 2016 in Dobbs Street is secure and has close to 380 members.
