The Dolphins development team isn’t looking for a win on Monday, rather, to be competitive against heavyweights, the Raiders.

“They’re looking forward to the challenge, in our eyes the Raiders are the benchmark, they have really good structure,” coach Shaun Bennett said.

“To be competitive, we’ll work on our reaction time and minimise counter-attacking, the Raiders are really strong in that area.”

IPS Dolphins have been in good spirits despite a 19-1 loss to Mudcrabs last week.

“The girls are very positive, they take more positives from games like that than negatives,” he said.

“They realise they’re not at the same level as Mudcrabs or Raiders, they don’t get down on themselves, they’re learning from it.”

Meantime, Octopuses Pink play Octopuses Black and Dolphins’ old girls play Mudcrabs.

Dolphins’ old girls, a team that remained unchanged in the off-season, started with four consecutive wins.

Last week, Samantha Neal and Jess Wadley were crucial in Dolphins’ 8-3 victory over Octopuses Pink, scoring three and two goals respectively.

However, their rivals have gelled, and some have claimed bragging rights over them.

Dolphins face a serious challenger in the Mudcrabs on Monday.

Mudcrabs have been inconsistent, due to player availability, but when all hands are on deck, they have packed a punch.
