Mickan succeeded Mark Kenny at the Two Blues’ helm and said the search for a replacement for Will Overs (who joins him on the committee as new vice-president) is his top priority.
“I’m confident we’ll sort out a coach shortly – we’re talking to people and really hoping to get someone by Christmas,” Mickan said.
The signing of four Canberra recruits has given the club a lift and Mickan said 2017 is an important year.
“The second year (back in the Farrer League) we were slightly off where we wanted to be and now in our third year, we’ve definitely got to start winning some games to get some momentum and get the club strong,” he said.
The veteran defender hasn’t hung up his boots yet but says, “hopefully I can’t get picked – hopefully the numbers are so that I’m not getting a game.”
