Little Ella took a turn for the worst at the weekend. Mother Lucy said her daughter’s blood sugar was sky-high.
“She was in a really bad way,” Lucy said.
After the health care jumped to the family’s aid, including a stint in Sydney, Ella was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes.
Lucy could not thank hospital staff enough.
She said it’d be great to see residents get behind a fundraiser to help out the Wagga Rural Referral Hospital’s (WRRH) children’s ward.
The fundraising night, on Friday, December 16 at the International Hotel, aims to purchase play equipment.
“We would like to purchase some board games as well as a cubby house that’s built to size that could be located outside,” WRRH manager corporate and business services Michael Morris said.
In other news, the hospital auxiliary has donated 14 new electric beds to the hospital to the tune of $50,000.
The auxiliary has donated more than $1.2 million since its inception in 2008.
