Brayden Ambler and Jack Harper, who both played in the opening round win over Murrumbidgee Rangers, have been drafted back in.
They will join the 12 players who scored success over the Border Bullets last month.
Jon Nicoll, who has been named Wagga’s best cricketer for each of the last three seasons has not been brought into the team
Captain Joel Robinson doesn’t believe it was necessary to make too many changes from the team that knocked out the inaugural winners.
“We are taking the boys who are keen and committed and giving them the first crack,” Robinson said.
With no first grade action in Wagga cricket this weekend, the team will travel to Sydney on Saturday before having a practice session in the SCG nets.
It is just part of the preparation for what will be the first game on the ground for the entire team.
“We’ve had a couple of hits, it is a little bit hard when you are training twice a week for club cricket,” Robinson said.
“But we had a good hit out last week and will have another good hit out this week and will have a training run at the SCG nets which should be good.
“It gives you that next level of training as well.”
Robinson believes the team is excited by the chance to play on NSW’s premier ground, but expects to be in for a fair challenge from the Orana Outlaws.
The Dubbo-based team made it through to the semi-final stage last year, before being knocked out by the eventual winners from Albury, and defeated South Coast Crew to progress this time around.
Robinson is familiar with a number of the Western representative in the team.
“It is definitely going to be a good experience and we are looking forward to it,” he said. “We are going to have to play well."
The Sloggers will take on the Outlaws at the first of the semi-finals on Sunday.
The clash will start at 10am with the winner to go through to the final at 6pm.
Robinson believes playing in the first of the semi-finals will be an advantage.
