Bottle shop divide
The state is divided along generational lines on the question of whether to relax laws requiring bottle shops to close early.
The NSW coalition government mandated the 10 PM closure of bottle shops as part of its 2014 lockout laws. A recent review said it could consider lengthening that closing time by one hour and allowing the home delivery of alcohol till midnight.
A new Fairfax poll finds just over half of people are opposed to that idea. But the issue divides generations. Those aged between 18-35 are a mirror image of broader public opinion.
