NSW is looking to win back the title against Queensland Fire at Allan Border Field after losing to South Australia last season.

Trenaman made history when she became the youngest player to debut for NSW last month and has played in the team’s last two matches.

However, the team has since welcomed back four Australian representatives, Yenda’s Alex Blackwell, Ellyse Perry, Alyssa Healy and Rene Farrell, for clash.

Trenaman was named in the squad on Thursday and she or fellow debutantes from this season, Maisy Gibson and Belinda Vakarewa, will fill the final available position.

The 15-year-old isn’t sure what role will take for the final, but is still excited about another opportunity.

“It is definitely exciting,” Trenaman said.

“I wasn’t expecting it and it is a nice little bonus to finish off a big month.

“Just to experience the final and see how the Australian girls come back and prepare will be very interesting to see.”

Being part of the squad for the final continues a massive month for the 15-year-old.

Trenaman was part of the Governor-General XI’s win over South Africa before being named to make her NSW Breakers debut.

She was also part of the under 18 girls national championships, which wrapped up in Hobart on Tuesday, before heading up to Brisbane as part of the squad for the final.

It has been a big learning experience for the Kooringal High School student.

“It’s been a pretty busy month and I haven’t spent much time at school so I but a fair bit of school work to catch up on, but I’m more than happy to be away and involved in my cricket,” Trenaman said.

Following ACT/NSW County’s third place finish at the national championships both Trenaman and Wagga City teammate Ellie Dalgarno-Fixter were named in the Cricket Australia under 18 female talent squad.

Trenaman scored 147 runs at 24.50 and took three wickets at 40 over the eight matches while opening bowler Dalgarno-Fixter took 12 wickets at 12.30.

While hoping to perform better, she was thrilled for her Cats teammate to be recognised for her efforts.

“We have played a lot of cricket together over the past three or four years and she has definitely worked very hard so it was lovely to see her finally get the recognition,” Trenaman said.
