The first Sunday of Advent begins the new liturgical year and is also seen as a time of preparation for celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ.
“I think Advent means we need to pray every night and go to Mass, think of people and give money to the poor,” said Henshke Primary School year 4 pupil, Abbey Hartley, 10.
“We need to be more giving to people who don’t receive special gifts or have special dinners, and pray for them,” said schoolmate Noyelmaria Rajeev, 10.
“I think Advent is a time for prayer and waiting for Jesus to come, and a time to clean our hearts and think of new life,” said nine-year-old Alina Osei.
