Children with sensory issues won’t have to miss out on their photo with Santa thanks to the Wagga Autism Support Group.
The group are hosting Sensory Santa on Saturday December 3 at the Kooringal Public School hall from 10am to 3.40pm.
Christmas can be an exciting time, but for many children with sensory issues, the hustle and bustle is overwhelming.
Sensory overload can make it hard, even impossible, for some children to participate in family and community events.
This feature is supported by:
Sensory Santa allows children with sensory issues to enjoy the magic of Christmas and meeting Santa and Mrs Claus.
Understanding staff, and 20 minute individual or family sessions, allow children to control their own level of contact and engagement.
Decorations and noise are kept minimal, with no background music or crowds.
