With Sam Fisher unable to commit to coaching, the Jackson-Fisher partnership has made way for Mitch Robinson.
It brought a tinge of regret for Jackson – who took the reins in 2015 before partnering with Fisher in 2016.
“I’ve enjoyed the two years. We missed the finals on percentage in 2015 and then just missed out on a grand final,” Jackson said.
“I’m disappointed that Sam’s work commitments meant we couldn’t continue and from a club point of view that we couldn’t keep the whole group together for another shot next year. But that’s footy.”
The Jets have also had an off-field leadership change with Andrew Clark replacing Brett Prentice as president.
He praised both Jackson and Prentice for their respective efforts in recent seasons.
