Hometown hero Luke Breust will return for the re-opening of the Temora Hotel and will bring eight of his Hawks teammates for a special Hawthorn sportsmen’s afternoon.
Breust is one of eight partners that purchased the Temora Hotel late last year so he has invited several of his premiership teammates along as the pub re-opens its doors for the first time in almost 12 months.
“I’ve always wanted to get some sort of stake in Temora, whether that was through real estate or not and it just so happened that it came about through the pub,” Breust explained.
“To be able to bring a few of the Hawthorn boys along and give back to the community is something I really wanted to do.
“Just for the little kids, especially in a place like Temora, I remember growing up that you rarely got an AFL or NRL player to come to town, let alone eight or 10 at once.”
Breust will be joined by James Frawley, Isaac Smith, Liam Shiels, Ryan Schoenmakers, Taylor Duryea, Jonathon Ceglar, new Hawk Tom Mitchell, the retired Brian Lake and ruck coach Damian Monkhorst in Temora.
The function will run from 12.30pm to 5.30pm with a signing session for kids at 4.30pm.
Tickets for the function are still available for $250, which include food and drinks, through the Temora Hotel Facebook page.
The players will remain available at the Temora Hotel after the function.
