For the last four seasons, Group Nine clubs Kangaroos and Brothers as well as Riverina League rivals Wagga Tigers and Collingullie-Glenfield Park have been joining forces at Robertson Oval.
Known as the commemorative games, the duel code games were also a fundraiser for the Wagga RSL sub-branch.
However, the clashes were absent from the respective 2017 draws released in the last week.
Kangaroos president Terry Cronin said the Group Nine draw didn’t cater for the clash.
“The way the draw was done they didn’t care whether we had Anzac Day or not,” Cronin said.
“It didn’t worry us a great deal, but we weren’t given the opportunity.”
The second draw considered, but ultimately rejected by the majority of Group Nine clubs, did have Kangaroos and Brothers playing in round three when a Anzac Day game would be played.
It was the reason Kangaroos voted for the second option, however Brothers didn’t.
Cronin said a revival of the concept wasn’t on the cards at this stage.
“Brothers weren’t too worried about playing on that day either,” he said.
“They think the same as I do and that playing at Robertson Oval is not good for rugby league.
“It isn’t the right ground spectator wise.
“It is a good event, but if I was going to go something like that I would have a double header of rugby league at (Equex Centre).
“Have something like Kangaroos playing Brothers and Southcity playing Albury or some other rival like Gundagai in the double header.”
Wagga Tigers did not request the date when the Riverina League draw was being made.

Instead they will have the bye over that weekend, which is the first round of the season.
Anzac Day falling on Tuesday next season was another factor behind the move, meaning clubs would have a short turnaround before the next fixtures.
