About 90 competitors took to the National Shooting Grounds in Wagga over the weekend for the postponed state skeet carnival.
Wet weather forced the postponement of the carnival in August and NSWCTA secretary Kathleen Dawe revealed the skeet competition may have found a permanent home in November.
“It was a good weekend, all of the shooters enjoyed themselves,” Dawe said.
“We’re aiming to have it at this time of year every year. It’s too cold in August.”
Dubbo’s Shane Bennett had a big weekend. He was inducted into the NSWCTA Hall of Fame and won the overall high gun.
Frankston’s Michael Buttigieg and Caboulture’s Lorraine Hughes were two other standout performers over the weekend.
Riverina competitors Mark Rosenboom, Ramsay Fish, Trina Adams and Reg Petts were all named in the NSW state team.
NSWCTA wished to thank Wagga sponsors Wagga RSL, Kooringal Hotel and Carriage House for their support in conducting the event.
