A WAGGA couple holidaying in the US were among thousands of people who thronged Times Square in New York as Donald Trump’s stunning election win unfolded.

“People were cheering, driving up and down yelling for him, like ‘go Trump’,” said Sally Grimson, on holiday with Josh Salan.
But Mr Salan revealed not everyone was as enthusiastic about Mr Trump’s election to the US presidency, with some people screaming obscenities about the next leader of the free world as the couple walked the streets of central New York the morning after the election.
“Trump lives on 5th Avenue and there was a massive police presence there last night, obviously,” Miss Grimson said.
Despite some predictions of turmoil should Mr Trump win the election, Miss Grimson said it looked like business as usual in the Big Apple.
“There are no crazy vibes,” she said.
