Fittingly, after floods impaired her preparation, torrential rain fell during her run in round two and all entrants raced in a wet arena in round three at Warwick.
Round one was even worse; a five-second penalty for knocking the barrel ruined her chances.
But Edwards finished on a high in round four, winning on trusty Moon Roc.
“Unfortunately, it started off not on a good note, that’s barrel racing, it happens,” she said.
“It was a good end, I was really happy with the horse the whole way through.”
Edwards finished second in the Australian Professional Rodeo Association tour.
