Much of the work refurbishing the heritage section of the courthouse has been undertaken behind scaffolding and out of public view over recent months.
But exterior work, including painting of the clock tower using a large cherry picker and construction of new steps and ramp on Fitzmaurice Street, has captured the attention of passers-by.
The multi-million dollar upgrade has included new buildings on Fitzmaurice Street and around the corner on Sturt Street.
The Fitzmaurice Street building includes a new trial courtroom and a new registry.
The courtroom has been used for several months, while court staff are expected to move into the registry soon. An official opening of the upgraded court facilities will be held early next year.
