“When it comes to a wheel race, there are guys who say, I'll work with you to try for half the prize money,” he said.
“With a few quality Tolland riders in the equation, it could be a podium finish for the Tolland boys.”
Oke reckons Jake Brooker and senior, on-form cyclist Dan Addison will join forces for a shot at the top prize.
Defending champion, Bathurst’s Richard Hobson, returns for another slice of the pie.
In an event well-supported by Dubbo, Goulburn, Bathurst and Albury-Wodonga-Lavington cyclists, Wagga will host 142 entrants at the track at Wagga Cricket Ground this weekend.
Numbers are down on last year.
“At the start of the season, people aren't in form,” Oke said.
“It should have been in February but it clashed with a national event so it got reshuffled. On the upside it’s a good start to the season, it will get everyone motivated.”
