Sunny skies soon turned to wind and cold temperatures, forcing a retreat from the planned site of EQUEX.
But fortunately the Victoria Hotel opened its doors and allowed the event to continue its musical acts into the night, free of charge to organisers.
Earlier that day, attendees were delighted by demonstrations that included a snake and reptile show, piglet trick demonstrations and whip cracking.
There was also jumping castles and face painting for children.
Coolamon woman and Bale Out Ball founder Sarah McCaig organised the event, which raised money for the Wagga Mental Health Unit, Riverina Bluebell and Beyond Blue.
