Churchill won the NSW Amateur title in August, and enjoyed more success at Royal Adelaide, before returning to Wagga to take out the NSW Country title this weekend.
Wagga hosted the NSW Country Championships for the first time and it was declared a big success.
Riverina Equestrian Association – Showjumping president Michael Lucas said it was a fantastic two-day event at CSU Equine Centre.
“We have had great feedback from all the competitors,” Lucas said.
“They thought the facilities here with the arena were fantastic.
“Everyone I spoke to really had a lot of praise for the committee."
It was the first time Wagga was selected to hold the event and following the positive feedback chances are it won’t be the last.
“They were all talking about coming next year so it looks like it is going to be getting bigger and better again," Lucas said.
More than 300 horses and over 160 competitors took part in the event which saw just over 1000 rounds of showjumping.
South Australia’s Nicole Bruggerman took out the highest class after being named NSW senior country champion.
She backed up a win in the Australian young rider division last year.
Condobolin’s Laura Sincott took out the young rider division at Wagga while Canberra’s Sarah Davies won the junior division.
