The 17-year-old will travel to Melbourne on Thursday for the AFL Combine where his draft chances will be on the line over four days of testing.
It will be his second trip to the big smoke in a week after taking part in the AFL All Stars Match at Punt Road last Friday.
Perryman did his AFL aspirations no harm with a classy display in Team Judd’s 38-point victory over Team O’Loughlin.
The country’s leading draft prospects were put together on the one field for an AFL grand final eve game and Perryman did not disappoint with 16 disposals from half-back.
“It was not too bad. I was pretty happy,” Perryman said.
“We had six or seven on the bench so we were on and off the bench a bit.
“It was good fun though.”
Perryman excelled for NSW-ACT Rams at this year’s under 18 national championships, enough for experts to declare him a possible top 10 selection at next month’s AFL Draft.
His decision to spend the second half of the season with Collingullie-Glenfield Park did no harm with already ‘five or six’ AFL clubs having visited him before the Combine.
Perryman believes returning to his home club did not hurt his prospects.
“I did just as much running at ‘Gullie because I didn’t come off at all,” he said.
“My fitness wasn’t down on the weekend.”
Perryman is looking forward to seeing what the AFL Combine is all about but admits there is one aspect of the camp that he would rather avoid.
“I’m not really looking forward to the running,” a laidback Perryman said with a laugh.
“It will still be pretty good though, I’m looking forward to it.”
Perryman has tried to get some training done, in between finishing year 12 and work on the farm.
He hopes to excel in the skill-based testing.
“It won’t be the running. Maybe the goalkicking, if I don’t get too nervous.”
