It was the second meeting held in just two weeks to brief the community on flooding preparedness.
Murrumbidgee SES incident controller Marc Coulter spoke at the hour long meeting, alongside emergency services staff who had been on the ground helping during the 2012 floods which devastated the North Wagga area.
“We had past region controller James McTavish as a guest speaker,” he said.
“James was highly respected for a lot of things he did during that period, and also his local knowledge.”
Mr Coulter said the purpose of the meeting was to update residents on the current flood situation and dispel any rumours.
“I became aware there was quite a few things from Facebook and just general comments among the community,” he said.
“The community was also told not to lower their guard because as we are aware the weather can change rapidly.”
