SES Murrumbidgee incident controller Marc Coulter said the man had been camping on high ground, but had woken to discover himself cut off by flood water overnight.
Rescue teams attended the scene, and the man was retrieved via FWD shortly after 10.30am that morning.
Mr Coulter said holiday campers should heed warnings before setting up.
