Colonel Mick Garraway, who has strong family ties to Wagga, will replace Jobson three years after his feet first touched Riverina soil.
It comes after The Daily Advertiser revealed last week that Colonel Jobson was likely to pass the torch.
“I’d like to say to the families and loved ones, we are about creating Australian citizens – not just soldiers – with real values, and that is what Kapooka will keep doing in the future and keep doing very, very well, “ he said.
The Conspicuous Service Cross recipient described Colonel Garraway as a “highly respected and accomplished infantry officer”.
“He is currently director of officer career management in Canberra,” Colonel Jobson said.
He said he was very proud of “the hard work and achievements” of Kapooka’s soldiers and staff.
