Eighteen boats from as far as Sydney and Mildura made their way to Lake Albert for a busy two days of action.
Wagga’s own Hendo’s Racing matched it with the best of the visitors and snared a first and second placing, while locals Paul Beaumont and Craig Wilkins performed strongly in the social boats.
The return of Mike McCall and Mick Busby after 26 years was another highlight.
Wagga Boat Club commodore Mick Henderson deemed the weekend a big success.
“It was fantastic. Very successful,” Henderson said.
“The competition was fierce, there was a lot of close racing.
“It was incident free and everyone commented on the beautiful environment. They’re all coming back again.
“We’re grateful for all the support we got from the local community.”
