Maslin Homes claimed the top prize with a custom built home which saw more than 50 trades work on it during the 18 month construction period.
A standard home takes around five months to build.
Glenn Maslin was “surprised and pleased” to take out the top award at the HIA Daily Advertiser Riverina Housing Awards.
“I’m very proud of all the trades who worked on this job,” he said.
“To get the end results we did there was no room for error.”
The home is split across four levels with floor to ceiling doors, steel work, square set cornices, solar panels, double glazed windows and the orientation increases energy efficiency.
An Infinity pool with waterfall was added to the plan and all levels in the house had to accommodate for the pool.
“There was nothing standard about the plan,” Mr Maslin said.
“To actually build something that is a little bit different is very exciting and very rewarding.
“To win the Riverina home of the year award it has to be something special and unique.”
Maslin Homes also took out the custom built home of the year award with the same house and the custom built home over $700,001.
