Hume League representative midfielder, Jesse Margosis, heads the quartet which includes promising forward Jordan Matthews, young flanker Jackson Sanbrook and tough midfielder Shannon Williams, who returns to Marrar after two seasons at home.
Margosis was Lockhart’s best and fairest and in the league’s team of the year in his second season at the club.
“He took his footy to another level this year and it comes back to his training and preparation,” Lenon said of the 23-year old.
Margosis believes the time in the Hume League and under Lenon has helped him improve. He’s heard only good things about Marrar and wants to repay the club with performance.
“I just want to play consistent footy,” Margosis said.
The former North Wagga player expects to find a different Farrer League upon return, headlined by East Wagga-Kooringal.
“They’ll be the team to beat. I think the whole league’s definitely improved, every club’s jumped up,” he said.
Williams is a strong-bodied midfielder who’ll be back in familiar company. Sanbrook will join his brother Brandon at the Bombers after injury kept him to seven games this year at Lockhart. Matthews is a key forward who bagged five goals in a game against Henty this year and could prove an ideal foil for spearhead Brad Turner.
“He’s an under-rated player but his work rate’s really good. He’s strong overhead and a good shot on goal,” Lenon said.
The new faces will add depth to a Marrar side that returned to finals this year and is set to keep its entire list intact.
Along with Turner, classy ruckman Nick Molkentin has put pen to paper as well as club best and fairest Josh Hagar, assistant coach Cal Gardner, Jason Reid, Jackson Moye and former Turvey Park pair Jesse and Tyler Cunningham.
But Lenon remains most excited by the emerging players from the Bombers under 17s and coming up from the Wagga Swans.
“The exciting part is the youth that they’ve got coming through,” Lenon said.
“I reckon there’s half a dozen young blokes that’ll push for a regular spot. Jack Reynolds, Jed Jenkins, young (Adam) Wallace, Rhys Langtry. And there’s two coming out of the Swans 15s, Rhys Mooney and Adam Whyte. They’re really good prospects.
“As a coach the young blokes are the ones you can help the most with their footy and you can get a lot out of helping shape those young blokes and their futures.”
Lenon said the club will get together for a Christmas party but he won’t kick off pre-season training until mid-January.
