The eastern block of the arterial road will be closed for six hours on Wednesday as council staff remove kerbside parking spaces to make way for new ones in the centre of the road.
The last crop of councillors passed the buck to bureaucrats to fix Wagga’s parking pain when it became clear a $240,000 Integrated Transport Study would be months late.
The trial is expected to create 26 new spaces by removing 18 parallel parks to create space for 40 90-degree spaces in the middle of the road.
The new parking spaces will not have any time limits.
Kincaid Street will be closed to traffic between 9am and 3pm on Wednesday to allow for line-marking and the installation of temporary kerbing.
