A minimum of $12,500 in trophies and prizes will be on offer over three big days at the City of Wagga Open.
More than 150 golfers are expected to hit the fairways of Wagga Country Club on both Saturday and Sunday, before the 4BBB Lakeside Classic concludes a big weekend on Monday.
This year’s event will feature a ladies event on the Sunday. $5000 hole-in-one prizes will be on offer over both days at the 7th and 18th holes.
Wagga Country Club club captain Stephen Childe expects a number of local members to feature.
“Our members patronage it extremely well,” Childe said.
“Playing on the local course helps.”
Luke Chisholm, Jarrod Meacham and Henry Brind are among the leading Wagga chances, while club junior Kurt Burns is also a strong chance of returning for the tournament.
They will meet strong opposition from Canberra golfers, Josh Reid (+3), Mick Miller (+1) and Jordan Ayre (+1), who are making their way to Wagga to compete.
First prize in the men’s scratch will win $1200 in vouchers and prizes.
