It is understood the club has opted to mediate the dispute, and depending on the outcome, Cooper may have to face the Football Wagga board in a tribunal.
A vast majority of readers polled (75 per cent) share Cooper’s sentiment, that they would like the option of drinking on grand final day.
His Tweet was relatively popular in the Wagga Twittersphere, retweeted twice, and favourited four times.
“First world problem... No beer at the football wagga grand final day. What a laugh. Run by a bunch of clowns #freethetaps #haveacoldie #fww,” he Tweeted on September 14.
Cooper has already been punished; banned from attending the grand final at Equex on the weekend. He watched Leonard and Pascoe Cup finals via a livestream, but missed Junee’s Madden Trophy win, as it wasn’t broadcast online.
