The new and less serious charge against 26-year-old Blair Morris, of Highland Park on Queensland’s Gold Coast, will replace a charge of recklessly dealing with proceeds of crime.
Police discovered the cash after stopping and searching the Toyota Hiace van Morris was driving on the Hume Highway near Tarcutta on May 18.
Magistrate Michael Crompton will sentence Morris on November 9 following the preparation of a pre-sentence report.
Morris will also be sentenced for driving with an illicit drug in his system.
A roadside mouth swab after Morris was pulled over found methamphetamine in his bloodstream.
