Wendy Harvey’s daughter was a student at the outpatient ward at Wagga Rural Referral Hospital.
She has since been offered a casual position until she finishes studying.
Mrs Harvey yesterday donated 20 handmade quilts to be hung on the walls.
Each quilt has a room number and positive affirmation sewn into it.
“They are not just really pretty but they are therapeutic,” nurse unit manager Innes Clarke said.
“The patients love them so far, the feedback has all been very positive.”
The unit is decorated with art work from carers or patients but this is the first time a donation has been received from the community.
