Sleeping Lake Albert residents were woken by a loud bang at 4.45am on Saturday morning.
Wagga police Detective Sergeant Phil Malligan said police were phoned after one resident walked down to the carpark to investigate and saw flames.
Police and firefighters attended the scene soon after and discovered the van ablaze and worked quickly to extinguish the flame.
The van’s owner, who did not wish to be named, said he had parked the van overnight in the club’s carpark after attending a trivia event on Friday night.
The angered owner said he was in disbelief at the senseless destruction of his family car.
Detective Sergeant Malligan said police had canvassed the area after the fire and investigations were continuing.
