But the idea of sipping an ice cold soft drink from the cup seems a little bit lame to him.

Football Wagga will host the only alcohol-free footy grand final based in Wagga.
“If I win the grand final I want to have a beer straight away,” he said.
Spectators miss out too.
“My wife and her friends are coming along,” he said.
“Most of them aren’t all that interested in the game, they’re there socially.
“My wife would like to have wine and cheese with her friends, where’s the harm in that?”
Babic believes there’s a glaring flaw in the logic for the ban.

“They say they want a family-friendly event,” he said.
“How can they say that when they put the main game on at 5.30 at night, when kids can’t go?”
His statements come after a flood of comments on a Daily Advertiser poll result, that found 75 per cent of readers would like to be able to drink on grand final day, as of Thursday.
