Hindmarsh will be a big boost to the team’s bowling ranks as the club looks to get back on track following a horror season.
While bowling was the stronger aspect of the game for the Bulldogs last season, Hindmarsh adds another aspect to the attack.
He is expected to join Nick Grant, Ben Willis and Tim Cameron in the pace department.
Wagga RSL didn’t win a match last season, which included three outright losses.
However, coach Shaun Perry is expecting the team to be much more competitive this season.
“We probably should have won a game or two last season but our batting let us down,” Perry said.
“We are quietly confident we will be more competitive with a bit more depth.”
The Bulldogs have bolstered its first grade squad with a number of familiar faces returning the club.
Former captain Sam Perry will return following a season in Canberra while Tim Delaney is also back at the club for the upcoming season.
Wagga RSL has also picked up Cootamundra O’Farrell Cup player Matt Berkrey.
Berkrey normal bats in the middle order and is a wicketkeeper and part-time bowler Perry believes his versatility will be an important mix for the team.
While there is nowhere but up for the club to go, Perry is excited to see what some of the club’s youngsters can bring after getting a taste of first grade last season.
“It is a good crew and I want to see how these young blokes progress,” he said.
“We are expecting big things from Josh Staines who played under 15s for NSW this year and got a hundred in the last game he played.”
