Around 500 copies of The Quest For The Holy Grail Of Riverina Cricket by John Scascighini and Brian Lawrence have been sold and the pair decided to donate the proceeds to Riverina junior cricket associations.
Nine junior cricket associations from the region have received donations while funds have also been set aside to place at tombstone on the unmarked grave of Tom O’Farrell, the man who donated the cup, at the Wagga Monumental Cemetery.
Wagga junior co-ordinator Shaun Perry was thrilled to receive just over received just over $1000 from Lawrence on Thursday.
“It is fantastic and was very unexpected so with the money raised last year with Wagga Takes Two we have a nice little sum there,” Perry said.
Lawrence said the amount given to each of the associations was determined by how much each district supported the production and sales of the book.
