Organisers were forced to set up two makeshift diamonds at Sturt Public School after heavy rain made French Fields unplayable.
The two games to complete the opening round of Pool A were played, before prospective state pitchers and catchers were put through their paces by selectors.
Wagga Softball Association officials were hard at work at French Fields on Wednesday afternoon and are hopeful that five of the six diamonds will be able to be used for the final day’s play on Thursday.
The carnival will finish and a state team will be announced.
