Katie Thomas from Regius Alpacas are bringing the cuddly and versatile animals to the Wagga Show for the first time this year to teach residents they are more than just a pretty face.
Miss Thomas said alpacas are most known for their soft fleece but can be used as stock protectors, pets or for eating.
“By nature, they are so gentle, they are so diverse,” Miss Thomas said.
“They are just an all-round animal.”
Miss Thomas said Wagga has the ideal breeding terrain and environment for alpacas.
“A lot of people aren’t aware there’s a whole industry based on them,” she said.
