The grade three side finished runner-up at the state finals at Bombaderry earlier this month.
After three pools win, the Rules Club came through a thrilling semi-final win over Mollymook.
After scoring a one-shot win to set up a clash with Gulgong, the Wagga women struggled to keep their winning run up in the final.
“It was a hard battle against Gulgong but to finish runner-up in the state is a good effort,” president Tracie Browne said.
Browne thought having two teams qualify for the state finals was a big effort by the club.
Browne was part of the grade four side that was knocked out in the semi-finals by Cabramatta.
Cabramatta then lost the final to Stuart Park.
Despite falling to take out the title, Browne was impressed with the performances the club displayed.
“It is the first time a state runner-up flag has been into the Rules Club ladies,” she said.
“It was a great effort, especially to get two sides through to the finals.
“You are playing against people in the city who have coaches and we battle along.”
The results also gave the ladies some bragging rights over the men’s club.
“We even beat the men’s this year,” Browne said.
“Last year they got five through the finals and this year they only got one.”
