Amy Sharp, 18, made a bizarre request of Sydney’s 7 News via Facebook.
Could they please swap her mug shot with a more flattering photo?
She even had the courtesy of providing a preferred image.
Miss Sharp escaped from Surry Hills Corrective Services Cell Complex on August 19 just after 3pm.
A police statement was accompanied by two images they had taken of her.
“Can you use this photo, please and thank you,” she wrote on Facebook, accompanied with an angel emoji.
She signed off with “Yours Truly, Amy Sharp xx.”
Miss Sharp attracted almost 60,000 likes on her comment and praise from people on social media.
She was arrested the next day at Wentworth Park.
