A Wagga District Court jury earlier this year found Matthew Allan Prowse, 26, guilty of firing a firearm in a manner likely to injure a person.
Prowse loosed off a shot at a group of men at a Nixon Crescent house on March 23, 2013.
Judge Jennifer English in Campbelltown District Court on Friday gave Prowse a head sentence of five years, backdated to August 27 last year, with a non-parole period of three years and nine months.
He will be eligible to be considered for parole on May 26, 2019.
