Miss Wagga Quest entrants held a joint fundraiser at the weekend with almost 90 attendees to raise money for five local charities – The Specialist Medical Resources Foundation, Ronald McDonald House, Country Hope, The Leisure Company and Mary Potter Palliative Care Unit.
The final figure is still being calculated but live auction items garnered hundreds of dollars a piece while Elements at the Gardens donated 10 per cent of the bar profits.
“We had a really great vibe on the night,” entrant Sarah Navin said.
“The dress-ups were awesome, people were covered in jewels, head pieces and feathers.”
Entrant Jes Smith commended the Australian Army Band Kapooka.
“They were absolutely amazing,” she said.
“They went straight in with the theme, it really set the mood.”
