Griffith’s first final in 10 years fell short of expectation as the Swans followed up last week’s horrific loss to Wagga Tigers with a 69-point loss to Collingullie-Glenfield Park.
Pavese conceded the Demons were too good.
“We just didn’t take our chances. We had plenty of the footy forward and couldn’t take our chances,” Pavese said.
“And, they’re up and about aren’t they?”
When Pavese returned to the club, he made no secret that the mission was to play finals football.
Despite the disappointment of their exit, Pavese gave the season the tick of approval.
“Successful. I said to the boys, we can actually see on their faces that they weren’t just happy to make finals, so that’s a good thing,” he said.
“Sometimes you don’t need a piece of silverware to say you’ve had a good year.”
