Ted Hall, 66, did not enter pleas this week to more than a dozen charges and his case was adjourned to October when he will appear in court via videolink with a Wagga courtroom.
His application to vary his bail requiring him to report to Junee police three times a week was refused by the magistrate.
Hall, a retired maths teacher and former army sergeant, is charged with assaulting St Pius X High School students at the school as well as at places in Merewether between 1983 and 1986.
He taught at the school between 1973 and 1983.
All alleged victims were under 16.
The court this week heard the cause would be taken over by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
