Wagga’s Olympic golden girl Alicia Quirk has come home to find a “quirky” tribute awaiting her.
The Borough’s “Quirky Burger” was devised by co-owners Whitney and Keegan Adams after watching the gold medalist’s Rugby Seven’s final on TV.
It’s an all-Aussie burger with a twist.
Chef Keegan Adams said it had to be a traditional Aussie burger, so there’s the traditional beef, bacon, egg, pineapple, tomato and lettuce, but they’re joined by five “Olympic” onion rings on a bun with a gold glaze.
“Wow, this is so cool,” Ms Quirk said as she struggled to get her mouth around it.
The tasty tribute to the hometown hero isn’t just reserved for Olympians, The Borough will be serving up Quirky Burgers all weekend.
