The 27 budding musicians, who form the only regional band to compete in NSW, upset dozens of metropolitan schools to claim one of the the top commendations.
It comes as the Wagga school earned the reputation of being the longest running primary school band in the state with more than 20 consecutive years of participation.
Band conductor Jenny Binovec, who helped guide the pupils to victory, was extremely proud of their achievements.
“They were awake and ready to perform at quarter to eight every Thursday morning,” she said.
“We’re extremely proud of all the hard work they’ve put in and how they have represented the school.”
She said all primary schools should offer band programs to their students in order to “boost their confidence, teamwork abilities and coordination”.
The tournament is open to schools across NSW.
