Gundagai scored a 22-0 victory when the teams last met in May and the two sides will battle it out for a place in the decider at Harris Park on Sunday.
Southcity captain-coach Nick Skinner is looking forward to the opportunity to squaring up the ledger in the club’s biggest game of the season.
“It is pretty exciting and I think we have been looking to playing them ever since they beat us over there pretty convincingly,” Skinner said.
With the winner earning a week off before the grand final on September 11 Skinner is confident they will put on a much better performance, especially on the Bulls’ home turf.
“We have worked on things where we went wrong when we played them last time,” he said.
“I just think we had a really bad day that day.
“It was one of those days where we dropped it off the kick-off and it never really went well from there.
“We know we have to be a lot better this week and I think the boys are ready for it.”
After having the week off last week, Southcity have made two changes from the team the sealed the minor premiership against Tumbarumba.
Brothers Jade and Cody Hodge will both return to the back line.
Older brother Jade is back at fullback, while Cody will slot onto the wing.
It means Southcity will head into the clash at full strength.
“It is basically just the team we have had throughout the year,” Skinner said.
On the other hand, the Tigers won’t be at full strength with representative winger Phil Latu out and captain-coach James Smart under a big fitness cloud.
However, Skinner is still expecting to face a strong line up.
“They have a couple of changes but are still really strong,” he said.
“I don’t think we are reading too much into that.”
It will be a big day at Harris Park for the Bulls with three grades looking to confirm a place on grand final day.
The Bulls’ Weissel Cup and reserve grade teams will also play on Sunday.
Despite a wet week in the lead up, Skinner is confident the surface won’t cause any headaches.
“It is looking good,” he said.
“The pitch is a little bit boggy but everything around it looks really good so it should be alright.
“There are three grades playing to get into the grand final so it is pretty exciting for the club too.”
