I wholeheartedly endorse his pragmatic views.
Council should be focused on everyday things in our fair city that benefit the average ratepayer, not grandiose expensive art projects that benefit the very small minority of art yuppies in the city.
To my way of thinking, $133,000 is a significant amount of money that could be far better used on such projects as filling in the disgraceful number of potholes in the road network.
For example, Kooringal Road near the Christian College is a disgrace and will lead to a major accident in the near future unless repaired urgently.
The junior sporting fields in this city are a disgrace as well.
Paramore Park is now a swamp and just about unsafe for children to play on.
The soccer fields are little better and yet council deems it fit to spend $133,000 of ratepayers’ money on dubious projects.
Perhaps council can go back to basics on roads, rubbish and sporting fields and after all immediate important priorities are taken care of, donate to arts.

Time to end the party
TO ALL the aspiring Wagga councillors:
I read with great interest all the information you give about yourself and your priorities and aims for Wagga, your experience and your talents.
We must be well informed to make a balanced choice and decision.
I want to stress one thing – I will only vote for independent councillors and most definitely not for councillors on a political group ticket because I don’t want any councillors to be beholden to a political party.
You, councillors, are there to represent us, the people of Wagga.
You are not there to represent any political party.
Some of you are very keen, dedicated and talented, just what we need.
I would not hesitate to vote for you.
Please do not be tied to any political party.
Stand on your own two feet and act on your own convictions, not biased political convictions.
Please don’t waste your talents, they are of far greater worth than political strings

Why equality matters
REGARDING the story "Gender equality backer abused" in The Daily Advertiser this week.
I hope police have been informed of this abuse.
How many remember an election where a Wagga local female Labor candidate had bomb threats?
Disgusting.
The people writing this rubbish on the site may be threatened misogynists.
They may be ratbags thinking they are funny but too cowardly to address things using their name.
They may even be women who believe only men are leaders, as some religious leaders have been heard to say.
Who knows, they may even live in another country.
Women are equal to men and free to speak up and lead.
The only time they should be barefoot, pregnant and in the kitchen is if they choose to.
It’s been that way since women took over from the men when the poor buggers had to go to war.
Surely it's time we kissed and made up and abusers were charged.
We are equal, we can work together.
I have kept all the candidates’ interviews and will vote for those who I believe have similar values and outlooks to represent me.
