Finucane got through a power of work in the 21-0 victory, plus scored the third and final try of the game, to be an unanimous winner of the Ken McMullen Medal.
Judged best on field in the decider, the number eight was pleased to return to a being a winner on grand final day.
“I won a grand final with Tahs in 2011, in first grade, and it has been a bit dry since then so it was nice to get one,” Finucane said.
The Englishman was impressed by how his team handled the deteriorating conditions at Conolly Rugby Complex.
“It was a real physical game, they are always physical and I've lost a few to Reddies so it was nice to get one,” Finucane said.
“Our boys played really well, played to our structure we worked all year and it was really good.”
