If this is true why not also borrow to complete the following which Wagga City Council have shown an interest in: Emergency Services building, levee bank, widening of Glenfield Road, Bomen freight hub, rail trail to Ladysmith, PCYC, widening Glenfield Road overpass, underpass at the Bomen rail line, widening of Eunony Bridge, improving roads to service Bomen, lights surrounding Lake Albert, widening of the Gobba Bridge, large truck parking bay, VFT (Sydney-Melbourne), trotting track, pumping water to Lake Albert, vehicle by-pass of the city, multi-storey car park in Fitzmaurice Street, revamp of Fitzmaurice Street – of course there may be others which I cannot recall.

With some 30 years in the banking industry I might remind Councillor Brown two messages (rules) when borrowing money - (1) you have to pay it back and (2) it is always easy to spend other people’s money.

Next Generation Wagga was an idea that I put together myself over three months. I did this to make Wagga a better place for my wife and two daughters.

I put a post out calling people to join myself to run a ticket to make change in Wagga. I had some people who were interested straight away some took time to join.

I then asked Rod (current mayor) to join my team as a mentor. This was a big decision for him as he was going against what he had done in past.

Rod did this to make change with next generation.

My ticket runs in order that people joined the group, (except Rod who I put at number one, everyone knows it's a numbers game).

I didn't base the order on age, sex, race or religion but in order that people decided to join.

It would of been against my belief in gender equality to ask a member to change positions based on their sex, male or female.

Next Generation has always had eight members, there is no token female or male on this ticket. We were together before (the recent) gender article was released, our ticket was released same day so can't be a reaction to the story.

We have a fantastic passionate diverse group of people that you the community can vote on in order you like. The power of the pencil, one to nine below the line, Everyone is electable.

We have some people attacking us who are pushing a single agenda for council. I am all for women in council and have four fantastic ones that joined our team who believe in a diverse range of issues for the community not just a single one.

Next generation is something I am passionate about and have put hours of work into over the past months.

I believe our diversity, passion and commitment make us stand out from the crowd. Together we can make change.

Good to read Ross Fitzgerald's insight in (a recent) paper. Intelligent solutions will always win out over rage and punishment.

Another solution was offered on The Point last night with Stan Grant on NITV, about Kimberly Stock men and women.

Wayward teenagers at yeehaa riding school with Kris Thomas and partner Sherie Lethbridge successfully turning young men and women around.

Well worth viewing.
