It was precisely the view 59 volunteers took in as they helped with this year’s National Tree Day.
More than 1500 seedlings were planted on east Bomen Road to form a nature corridor between paddocks.
“It’s linking areas of vegetation so that birds and mammals can move safely through the site,” Wagga City Council’s environmental education officer Alice Kent said.
She was impressed with the number of families involved in yesterday’s event.
“It’s really important that kids are connecting with the environment and don’t mind getting grubby,” she said.
Miss Kent attributes better weather conditions to the increased number of volunteers this year.
